“Kamares Sto Appia”, meaning “Arches on Appia”, is a bold and glamorous Modern Mediterranean home designed for a Brisbane family with deep cultural connections. Inspired by European architecture and a love of entertaining, this home is a showpiece of custom design, material richness, and family connection.

The Client Brief
A Brisbane family with deep Greek roots wanted a home that carried that heritage without imitating it, and one built to host. Kamares Sto Appia means ‘arches on Appia’, and the arch was the brief’s starting point.
Our Solution
Arches carry through the facade and into the interior, set against staggered stone that gives the street a weight the house lives up to. A single 67m² dining and living space anchors the ground floor and opens to a resort-scale pool, while a 45m² main suite and three further bedrooms give the family room to withdraw.
Behind the Build
This was a legacy project for O’Shea & Sons, a home that required complex construction methods and a village of trusted collaborators to bring to life. DZ Architects led the architectural design, while Merge Interior Design and Satori Pools elevated the home’s finishes and resort-style lifestyle features.
Every element, from the custom concrete arches to the luxurious natural stone, speaks to the skill and dedication of the O’Shea & Sons build team.
